Hiway Fuel Services - Web Application & Database Development

Project Summary

Broadside Media was approached to build a web application for Hiway Fuel Services, an online portal for streamlining the fuel delivery and invoicing process while providing transparency for their clients to view up-to-date information on fleet deliveries, future costs etc. A strategic report was commissioned as a first step to examine Hiway Fuel Services’ existing fuel metering and data management technology, to inform on the existing capabilities and limitations of their current systems and technology, while highlighting some potential opportunities for automation and integration. This was formulated through extensive industry research, interviews and brainstorming.

The company’s next progression involved expanding itself through the integration and application of the web application and the migration of old technologies to new, to strategically assimilate traditional reporting methods into an online initiative. The ability for Hiway Fuel to gain technological ground as a player in the fuel services industry was a key motivating factor. The final phase to come is to streamline the database process through the automation of wireless transmission infrastructure which will remotely update the database in real-time.
